Are you struggling to solve CAT-level DILR sets under time pressure? Do you often solve half a set, only to run out of time or get stuck in the middle? The problem isn’t your intelligence — it’s your strategy. The CAT DILR G Strategy Workshops are designed to change the way you think, solve, and succeed in the DILR section.

Backed by the powerful G Strategy Framework, these workshops decode every set into logical, solvable steps. Whether you’re facing a Venn Diagram puzzle, Games & Tournaments set, or the infamous CAT 2023 Ravi’s Delivery Ratings caselet — the workshop shows you exactly how toppers approach and conquer them.

This is not a generic practice session. It’s a strategy masterclass — a guided lab where each session covers:

  • Set Deconstruction – How to break complex sets into 5 logical phases: Setup, Decode Clues, Deduction, Completion, and Answering
  • Pattern Spotting – Learn to identify if a set is Simulation-based, Matching, Routes, Scheduling, Caselets, or Classic Puzzles
  • Answer Flow Mapping – TITA vs MCQ solving styles and how to answer without re-solving
  • Smart Guessing Techniques – Learn elimination techniques when you’re stuck at 70% completion
  • Playbook Creation – Build your own strategy book with notes, trigger phrases, and solving blueprints

Each workshop covers real CAT DILR sets from 2017–2024 with:

  • Full walkthroughs using the DILR Playbook
  • Set-wise solving speed benchmarks (8 min, 12 min, 18 min)
  • Strategy Mapping per set type (e.g., Grouping, Simulation, Calendar Logic, Quant-DI Mix)
  • Student error log review: Why most aspirants fail and how to avoid common traps

What makes these workshops different?

  • You don’t just learn how to solve — you learn how to think like a problem-setter.
  • Each session includes smart shortcuts, set templates, and pattern recalls to help you develop speed + logic together.
  • Worksheets from the DILR G Strategy Workbook are integrated into the sessions, giving you live practice with coaching.

You’ll also learn:

  • How to use the Clue MCQ Method for selective reading
  • How to build DILR intuition by recognizing familiar set frameworks
  • Why not completing a set can sometimes be the smartest strategy

Whether you’re at the 60%ile stage or aiming for 99%ile, these workshops will level up your DILR game in just a few weeks. Many CAT toppers say the G Strategy DILR sessions were the turning point in their prep — when DILR went from fear to fun.

CAT DILR Syllabus 10 types

12 Types of DILR Sets in CAT

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) has become the game-changer section in CAT over the years. While Quant and Verbal show consistent difficulty levels, DILR fluctuates, often catching students off guard. Based on the analysis of CAT papers from 2019 to 2024, we can categorize DILR into 12 strategic set types. This classification helps aspirants master pattern recognition and plan mock test strategies more efficiently.

1. Wide Arrangement – Words Arrangement

This traditional logic puzzle involves seating or placing individuals/objects based on verbal clues. With a total of 68 questions over 6 years, it’s among the most frequent. CAT 2020 saw the highest (24), while 2024 dropped to 5.

2. Wide Arrangement – Numbers Arrangement

Similar to the above, but focuses on numerical positioning like ages, ranks, etc. Featured in 26 sets across years, it peaked in CAT 2021 and 2024 with moderate appearances.

3. Teeny Arrangement – Numbers Arrangement

Shorter, crisper sets with number arrangements and tight constraints. The popularity spiked in CAT 2023 with 20 questions, making it a must-practice set.

4. Teeny Arrangement – Words Arrangement

These are verbal-based mini-arrangement sets. After appearing heavily in 2019, they settled into low but consistent appearances, summing up to 29 sets in total.

5. Scheduling – Time-based Arrangement

Slot 32420202022106
Grand Total647060606066380

Among the most scoring and conceptually clear, these sets involve arranging meetings, tasks, or timelines. CAT 2021 (14) and CAT 2023 (15) confirm its rising importance, with a total of 40 questions over the years.

6. Routes – Route Calculations

These sets test spatial understanding, paths, and shortest routes. While not too frequent, they appeared 28 times, often in CAT 2022 and CAT 2024.

7. Caselet Teeny – Calculations

Small calculation-based sets that test interpretation speed over logic. CAT 2020 was a standout year with 19 such questions, indicating that caselets remain a recurring feature (total: 61).

8. DI Graphs Based – Graphical Interpretation

These include Bar Graphs, Tables, Triangle, Square, and Bubble Graphs. Students must decode numerical trends, often involving percentage changes and ratios. With 69 questions across years (notably in CAT 2024), DI graph sets have become more creative (e.g., triangle or web-based graphs).

9. Caselet Wide – Tree or Complex Data

Broad caselets without direct graphical visuals but heavy on interlinked data (e.g., family trees, project plans). With 20 questions, CAT 2022 focused heavily on such sets.

10. Venn Diagram – 2D, 3D, and 4D Sets

High-level Venn questions test set theory through complex group intersections. Peaked in CAT 2020 and 2024. With 8 major questions across years, 4D Venn diagrams are rare but deadly, demanding strong visualization skills.

Final Insight

Across 6 years (CAT 2019 to CAT 2024), the DILR section had 380 questions, with 228 from Arrangements and 152 from Calculation/DI-based sets. The key takeaway is balance — CAT doesn’t prefer one type over others year after year. The best approach is to master 2–3 types and become moderately comfortable with the rest.
