How this MBA aspirant reached salary of 1Cr INR within 10 years

A big win for Anand ! all his hard work for about a year had payed off. His dream had come true! He cracked XXXXX, the most prestigious institute in India

2 years at XXXXX were insightful. Him being from a BCom background was rare then and hence his peer to peer learning was also immense. For 2 years, he was like a sponge – gathering all the information that would help him.

Alas, came the summer placement season. His vision was clear- to work with an FMCG company in the sales & marketing division. He got through a reputed FMCG MNC which gave him immense learning opportunities in the rural and urban areas of India. He converted his summer placement into a pre placement offer and was now focused on research in the field. He got placed at a mid management level thanks to his past experience, internship & keen interest in researching about the sector. His career was now on auto pilot mode, within the first 2 years he got his first promotion with a 25% hike (on a base salary of 18LPA). Another 1.5 years  in the system and he took a jump to another FMCG giant with a whopping 40% hike. The next 2 years he was heading a division in his organization. The title of a Marketing Head was something that he dreamt of, when suddenly he got an opportunity abroad in the same organization which he took up. This was the most pathbreaking move for his career as an international experience didn’t just give him a major boost in his CV but also opened up various avenues of learning for him. Running a division as an Associate Director for this MNC’s Middle East division, he travelled immensely to various continents and expanded his role to Africa & other nearby regions. He spent about 5 years in the Middle East moving to become the Director at his organization.

Today, Anand has moved back to India, he heads 2 Companies of a Group handling a turnover of about 1500Cr INR. He is the CEO of these 2 organizations. He finds his work particularly exciting as he gets to work with consultants from the big 4 and leads his team towards record breaking heights.
